Liverpool vs Leicester City: Predicted line-up as Klopp’s side faces Foxes

Liverpool would be without Mohamed Salah for the trip to Leicester City after the Egypt star tested positive for COVID-19 while on International duty.

The star forward celebrated his brother’s wedding during the break, prompting deliberations that he was not observing social distancing when he contracted the virus.

It’s one of the major issue in a seemingly continual avalanche of unfortunate scenario for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The German tactician has star defender Virgil Van Dijk, Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sidelined due to injury.

While Trent Alexander Arnold limped out of the 1-1 draw with Manchester City before the International break, elsewhere, defender Joe Gomez broke down in training with England, while Andrew Robertson has been nursing a calf problem.

There are also strong doubts over the availability of Brazil’s Fabinho skipper Jordan Henderson and youngster Rhys Williams.

And as such Nathaniel Philips and Joel Matip should make up for the partnership in the heart of Liverpool’s defence.

While impressive youngster Curtis Jones could take up a place in the middle of the park, James Milner could likely start in midfield alongside Naby Keita and Georginio Wijnaldum, who scored a brace for Holland in their 3-1 win over Edin Dzeko less Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Up front Roberto Firmino will be saddled with the workload to lead the lines for the Reds.

While the in-form Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane take their place in opposite wings, Liverpool’s bench for the Leicester clash will be largely inexperienced.

Rhys Williams may likely be on the substitute bench, alongside second-choice goalkeeper Adrian.

Youngsters Sepp van den Berg or Billy Koumetio may be roped in too, in order to bolster Klopp’s defensive alternatives.

As expected, Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Swiss hitman Xherdan Shaqiri should be Liverpool’s major bailout personnel on the substitute bench for the Leicester City tie.

Liverpool’s predicted line-up against Leicester City in a 4-3-3 Formation System.

Alisson Becker; James Milner, Matthew Philip, Joel Matip; Andrew Robertson; Naby Keita, Georginio Wijnaldum, Curtis Jones; Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.
