Serie A: Victor Osimhen receives backlash for taking pictures with Cristiano Ronaldo, Buffon

Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has come under fire for taking pictures with Juventus’ legendary duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gigi Buffon after Napoli’s 1-0 win over the Italian giants on Saturday.

Italian football pundit Umberto Chiariello could not hide his disappointment with the behaviour of the Nigerian international

Osimhen had after the match gone to the Old Lady dressing room to take pictures with Ronaldo and Buffon.

And Chiariello, the director of the sports editorial staff of Radio Punto Nuovo, a journalist and columnist for Canale 21, questioned the decision of Napoli to sign Osimhen last summer.

He pointed out that the Super Eagles forward is not an established player in the mould of Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku,

“Did Osimhen understand that he is in Italian football and that he plays for Napoli?

“Why is he taking pictures with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gigi Buffon?”, Chiariello was quoted as saying by Area Napoli.

“Napoli has bet on him even though he is not an established player. Inter has gone to Romelu Lukaku, who is a safe use, while Aurelio De Laurentiis has invested in bets”.

Osimhen was signed for a record-breaking €70m after an impressive performance with Lille last season.
