COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,588 new cases, more deaths

 


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 1,588 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The development brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the country to 139,242.

NCDC made the announcement Saturday night while giving the usual daily report on its Twitter handle.

The public health agency also confirmed 6 fatalities, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 1,647.
