Manchester City midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan, has compared head coach, Pep Guardiola, to Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp.
Gundogan, who has been in excellent form this season, has been managed by both the Man City and Liverpool managers.
The 30-year-old worked with Klopp at Borussia Dortmund before linking up with Guardiola at the Etihad.
The Germany international revealed that Guardiola is the best tactician he’s ever played for but said he would ‘die’ for Klopp on the pitch.
Asked if Guardiola is the best manager he’s played for, Gundogan told Sky Sports ahead of Man City’s clash with West Ham on Saturday afternoon: “True. It’s probably a bit easier for me to name a difference [between Guardiola and Klopp] because I feel like tactically Pep is the best I have ever seen to be honest and I have also heard that a lot of times from other players who have played under him.
“The way he looks at all the details of the game is just incredible and he tries to transmit that on the pitch.
“But then Klopp, Jurgen as a character is someone when you go on the pitch you are able to sacrifice everything for him, to give your all.
“He has that power the way he talks to you, the way he speaks to you, to give you the right words going into a game.
“So you just go onto the pitch and you’d die for him.”
Gundogan added: “It’s difficult to say who is better. Me personally, I just feel privileged to have worked with both. “That’s what I am very grateful for.”
