Fight social ills through modern techniques – Ganduje charge Hisbah recruits


Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has charged the 3,100 newly recruited Hisbah guards to fight the current social ills through modern techniques and standard operations guidelines in line with the existing Hisbah laws.

The Governor made the call on Saturday during the closing ceremony of training of Hisbah Officials held at NYSC Camp, Kusalla in Karaye Local Government Area.

Ganduje, who was represented by his Deputy Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, said the new recruitment was done across the 44 local governments of the state as part of efforts to strengthen the manpower of the Hisbah Board.

He said the training had equipped the officials with appropriate skills to counter the current social ills through modern techniques and standard operations.

Earlier, the Commander General of the Hisbah Board, Ustaz Harun Ibn Sinah explained that the personnel exhibited good character, hard work and commitment during the training.

He commended Governor Ganduje, he, therefore, urged the new recruits to put into use what they have learned during the training.

The Hisbah Board is saddled with responsibilities to fight social vices across the state.
