Southern Kaduna: Bandits demand N100 million from Kajuru kidnap victims

Bandits have demanded N100 million ransom from relatives, parents and friends of 30 worshipers kidnapped in Kajuru.

It was reported that bandits had stormed three communities in Kajuru LGA on June 5, 2022, killed scores of worshippers and kidnapped 30 worshipers.

Public Relations Officer, Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), Comrade Luka Biniyat expressed bitterness over frequent kidnap of Southern Kaduna people.

According to him, some of the kidnapped female victims are heavily pregnant.

He said, “these are people whose homes were destroyed, their foodstuff and animals rustled and left with nothing. Southern Kaduna natives alone pay kidnappers at least N4 billion in ransom each year since 2020.

“Victims of the recent attack said that a helicopter aided the invaders. The helicopter started raining bullets on the natives, giving the attackers a huge advantage to take on the peaceful community.”

He said he was surprised that the Nigerian Air Force had not refuted the report.
