Transfer: Fofana undergoes Chelsea medical as another forward leaves Stamford Bridge

Leicester City defender, Wesley Fofana is set to undergo medical with Chelsea ahead of a summer move.

The Athletic reports that Fofana’s medical will take place in the US.

It is understood that Chelsea’s owners took the decision to fly the player abroad for the checks “for peace of mind”.

The transfer is expected to be wrapped up by midweek before the window closes.

The Blues saw a few offers turned down, before both clubs agreed a fee believed to be over £70million with add-ons.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen have agreed a season-long loan deal with Chelsea for forward Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi will fly to Germany on Monday for a medical.

The move was in danger of collapse 24 hours ago as Leverkusen wanted an option inserted in the deal.

Talks went into the night with Hudson-Odoi’s representative – brother Bradley – able to convince Leverkusen to take the deal on the terms Chelsea wanted.
