The Federal High Court sitting in Warri has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police to maintain the status quo in the ongoing suit over the controversial tinted glass permit regulation.
The case, Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025: John Aikpokpo-Martins v. Inspector-General of Police & Nigeria Police Force, was heard today.
In its interim ruling, the court directed the police to respect judicial processes and suspend any enforcement actions until further proceedings are concluded.
Speaking after the ruling, Kunle Edun, SAN, who led the legal team, described the order as a significant step toward upholding the rule of law while the substantive issues are being addressed.
