RIVERS: CONTRACTORS RETURN TO SITE AS GOV. FUBARA RESUMES PROJECTS INSPECTION

 


...Assures completion of Ogbakiri road by December 


It is a cheery news that contractors are returning to sites to resume work as Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state recommences inspection of ongoing projects under construction by his administration before the disruption created by the state of emergency.


The governor Tuesday, October 7, 2025 visited the 19.7 kilometers 

Buguma-Tema-Degema-Abonema road cutting across three local government areas in Kalabari Kingdom and the 9.7 Kilometers Ogbakiri road in Emohua Local Government Area with assurances to the residents in the area of completing the projects on schedule.


Gov. Fubara told newsmen, "We came in to inspect one of the projects we were doing before the state of emergency. This project for us is very important because it is one that connects the Ogbakiri people to the East-West Road with ease. 


He commended the people of Ogbakiri for being one of the most friendly communities as confirmed by the contractor, adding that they were never troublesome or hostile to the contractor.


 According to him, "They understand the importance of this project, which is about them and the government is about the people.


"So I am here to assure the good people of Emohua Local Government Area and Ogbakiri in particular, with the Chairman here as a witness, you can see that the contractor is back on site and God willing, before the end of 2025 this project will be completed."


The governor who was accompanied on the visit by Management of Julius Berger Nigeria PLC and the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Hon Chidi Llyod to inspect the Ogbakiri road, earlier visited the Buguma-Tema-Degema-Abonema road to see the extent of work done.
