The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Saturday, inspected several ongoing road projects across Abuja to assess the pace and quality of work being done.
During his visit to the Wuye District, Wike was briefed by the Managing Director of Arab Contractors, Engr. Mohamed Eldaros, who disclosed that about 37 percent of the road network in the area has been completed, along with key infrastructure such as electricity, telecommunications, and water supply.
Eldaros noted that road markings were currently underway, describing them as the final phase of the project. He added that with sustained funding, the remaining 40 percent would be completed within 20 months.
“In about 20 months, we will deliver the remaining portion of the project with continued financial support,” he said.
The minister also inspected the ongoing construction of the road linking Airport Road with Kuje Area Council. According to Eldaros, the dual carriageway—designed with an additional service lane to make five lanes—is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed by June 2026.
“With the current level of support and the approaching dry season, we are confident of completing the project by June next year,” Eldaros assured.
