Alia is God-sent to Benue, re-election certain in 2027 — Council chairman, Oche

The Chairman of Ado Local Government Area in Benue State, Mr. Oche Sunday Oche, has declared that the return of Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for a second term in 2027 is inevitable, citing what he described as the governor’s outstanding performance in office.

Speaking in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Oche said residents of Benue State are satisfied with the current administration and are prepared to overwhelmingly support Governor Alia’s re-election bid in 2027.

He portrayed the governor as a divine gift to the state, stressing that Alia has made remarkable progress in addressing insecurity, which he said has dropped to its barest minimum within two years of the governor’s tenure.

According to the council boss, the governor’s record of achievements has made him politically formidable, noting that this is responsible for the steady influx of members from opposition parties into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State.

In his words, “the decampees wouldn’t leave their former parties if they haven’t seen light in the reelection bid of Governor Hyacinth Alia.

The governor’s giant strides in the areas of infrastructure, prompt payment of salaries, quality health care and other areas of governance have encouraged political stakeholders in the state to align with him and the ruling party as the struggle for 2027 elections heats up.”

Oche also commended the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, as well as the Benue State APC Chairman, Mr. Benjamin Omale, for standing firmly behind Governor Alia in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

He noted that the recent position of the party’s National Working Committee, which affirmed governors as leaders of the APC in their respective states, has effectively resolved the leadership tussle that had plagued the Benue chapter of the party.

The Ado council chairman further praised key allies of the governor, including Dr. Livinus Tsar, Chief Moses Ternenge, and Rt. Hon. Solomon Wombo from Konshisha, Kwande, and Katsina-Ala local government areas, respectively, for their relentless efforts in mobilizing grassroots support for the governor’s 2027 ambition across the state’s 23 local government areas.

Oche assured that his administration at the local government level would remain committed to supporting Governor Alia by ensuring the delivery of tangible democratic dividends to the people of Ado Local Government Area.
