Manchester United have sacked Ruben Amorim as their manager.
This follows Amorim’s comments after their 1-1 draw with Leeds United on Sunday.
The Portuguese criticized United’s heirarchy, asking them to “do their jobs” in a feisty press conference.
An official club statement, read: “With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club’s leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change.
“This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish.”
The 40-year-old leaves the role at Old Trafford after a topsy-turvy 14 months at the club.
United currently sit in sixth place after 20 league fixtures.
