The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has received a technical team from the World Bank Group as part of efforts to improve disaster preparedness and response across Nigeria.
The visit took place on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement shared on NEMA’s official X page, the delegation was led by Francis Nkoka, while the agency’s Director General, Zubaida Umar, received the team.
The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing collaborations and exploring ways to strengthen disaster risk management, especially in helping communities better prepare for emergencies.
“The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening disaster risk management systems and enhancing the country’s capacity to effectively prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters,” the statement said.
