COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,624 new cases, more deaths

 


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 1,624 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in 22 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The development brings the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 137,654.

The health agency made the announcement last night while giving the usual daily report on its website.

NCDC also confirmed 7 fatalities, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 1,641.

The agency also confirmed the recovery and discharge of 916 patients from its isolation centres. So far, 111,639 patients have recovered across the country.
