Champions League: Liverpool suffer fresh injury blow ahead of RB Leipzig clash

Premier League champions, Liverpool, look set to be without striker, Roberto Firmino, when they take on RB Leipzig in the Champions League last-16 second-leg tie on Wednesday night in Budapest, Hungary.

Firmino was absent from Liverpool’s training in Kirkby on Tuesday ahead of the game against Leipzig on Wednesday night due to a sore knee, Sky Sports report.

Recall that the Brazilian missed Liverpool’s defeat against Fulham in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool defeated RB Leipzig 2-0 in the first-leg last month.

However, speaking during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, expressed confidence that his team can make their way through to the last-8 despite their recent bad form in the Premier League.

Klopp said, “Two things (give me faith in the Champions League), the quality of the boys and football in general.

“You always have a chance in the next game, and that’s already enough.”
