DSS confirms attack on Sunday Igboho’s residence, says arms recovered

 


The Department of State Services has confirmed attack on activist Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo AKA Igboho’s residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Recall that in the early hours of Thursday, Igboho’s residence located at Soka area of Ibadan was invaded by some gunmen suspected to be security agents.

The house, according to those who spoke with newsmen on Thursday was invaded around 2.am.

The invasion reportedly lasted till around 5.am.

However, DSS, while confirming the raid, paraded 11 men and a woman arrested after the fierce battle.

The Public Relations Officer of the DSS, Dr. Peter Afunanya on Thursday night said the operatives recovered a cache of arms including seven AK-47 rifles and thousands of ammunition from Igboho’s house.

He said the suspects were taken to Abuja while Igboho escaped.

Afunanya stressed that the operatives has launched a manhunt for Igboho, adding that he will be tracked.
