2021: NSCDC loses seven officers in Niger

 


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) lost seven of its personnel in the course of duty in Niger State, in 2021.

Its State commandant, Haruna Bala Zurmi made this known while briefing newsmen on the activities of the command in 2021.

According to the commandant, 1,578 cases bothering on criminal breach of trust, burglary, assault, theft, land disputes, debt, among others were received.

Zurmi explained that the command recovered over N56.98million within the period under review, stressing that the funds were returned to the rightful owners.

He further explained that 147 civil cases were referred to the peace and conflict management unit for alternative dispute resolution.

According to him, 1,428 out of the 1,578 were resolved, while 15 cases were prosecuted with eight convictions.
