Amotekun arrests suspected ritualist with human parts in Osun

 


A man suspected to be a ritualist has been apprehended by operatives of the Osun Western Security Network Agency, Amotekun with mutilated human parts.

The arrest was made on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Igege town, in Ola-Oluwa South-East Development Area as the suspect was about to be lynched by residents.

The unnamed suspect, it was gathered, was accosted by residents and forced to unpack the contents of the ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag he was carrying.

On opening the bag, mutilated human parts were found, which made the residents descend on the suspect.

Confirming the incident, the Amotekun Osun Field Commander, Amitolu Shittu, revealed that the man was caught with body parts, but that the case will be diligently investigated.

He explained that the suspect had been transferred to Osogbo for proper investigation and prosecution.

Meanwhile, spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola disclosed that the Commissioner of Police had been briefed of the incident and personnel have been deployed to the scene.

Opalola added that further details about the findings of the police would be communicated to journalists in due course.
