Alleged s3xual exploitation: Court grants N5 million bail to church founder, confiscates licence


A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo has ordered the confiscation of Certificate of Registration of the Great Tabernacle Miracle Church of God, aka Lesekese Church, Ido-Osun.

Justice Ayo Emmanuel gave the verdict on Tuesday while ruling on the twelve-count charge bothering on s3xual exploitation, deceit and trafficking in persons brought against the founder of the Church, Prophet Adeyemi Adeniran by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

Justice Emmanuel also granted bail to Prophet Adeniran in the sum of five million naira, with two sureties in like sum who must be members of the church.

The trial judge, while maintaining that the conditions must be met within five working days, added that Prophet Adeniran will be remanded in Ife Correctional Centre if he failed to meet the conditions.

The court also adjourned hearing on the case to February 16, 2022.

Some female members of the Great Tabernacle Miracle Church of God had in September, 2021, accused Prophet Adeyemi Adeniran, who is also an officer of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) of s3xual abuse and exploitation for cheap labour.

He allegedly gathered some young girls at his Church in Ido-Osun and was s3xually abusing them.
