EPL: Five talking points as Premier League enters Game Week 4

The English Premier League (EPL) enters Match Day 4 this weekend, with many things at stake already at the early point of this season.

Here are five talking points as the Premier League enters week four.

1. Liverpool yet to win an EPL game: Surprisingly, Liverpool are currently the only team in the Premier League ‘big top six teams’ that is yet to win a game after three matches. Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently in the 16th position on the Premier League table with two points from three games. The Reds have drawn two and lost one of their first three games against Fulham, Crystal Palace and Manchester United. Liverpool will hope to get their first win of the campaign when they host Bournemouth on Saturday at Anfield.

2. All eyes on Man United’s new boy, Casemiro: The stage is set for Casemiro to make his Premier League debut for Man United this weekend. Casemiro, who recently joined Man United from Real Madrid, will hope to feature for the Red Devils when they face Southampton in an away Premier League tie on Saturday afternoon. Manchester United coach, Erik ten Hag, has already confirmed during his pre-match press conference on Friday that the Brazilian international, a five-time UEFA Champions League winner, is fit ahead of the Southampton clash. Certainly, Man United fans will be eager to see their latest new signing at St. Mary’s Stadium in action for Ten Hag’s men.

3. Arsenal’s perfect record so far: The Gunners remain the only team in the English top-flight league so far this season yet to lose and also draw any match. Mikel Arteta’s side have won their first three Premier League games against the likes of Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Bournemouth. The North London club currently sits on top of the Premier League table with 9 points from three matches. Arteta’s side will hope to continue their impressive record on Saturday evening when they host Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

4. Chelsea to bounce back from a latest setback: Chelsea, who finished in the third position on the Premier League table last season, have not started really well this season. Thomas Tuchel’s side have won one, drawn one and lost one of their last three matches against Everton, Tottenham and Leeds United. Chelsea are currently in 12th position on the Premier League table with four points from three games. The Blues will host Leicester City on Saturday at Stamford Bridge and need to beat the Foxes to bounce back from their latest setback.

5. Ronaldo’s uncertain future at Man Utd: With one week left for the summer transfer window to end, Ronaldo’s future at Man United is still uncertain. Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Man United all summer. The uncertainty about his future at Old Trafford has also affected his game time in Erik ten Hag’s team so far this season. The Portugal captain was benched in Man United’s Premier League 2-1 win over Liverpool last Monday night. His agent, Jorge Mendes, earlier this week approached Napoli over a potential move. Mendes is still trying to find a solution for Ronaldo, who is desperate to play in the Champions League. It remains to be seen if Ronaldo will end up leaving Man United before the transfer window closes in September. The 37-year-old, however, posted on his Twitter handle on Thursday that he is focused ahead of the Southampton clash.
