Transfer: Man Utd’s offer for De Jong expires

Manchester United’s accepted offer for Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, has expired, according to De Telegraaf.

Man United have been linked with De Jong throughout this transfer window, but the player is reluctant to move to Old Trafford.

The Premier League giants have had a £72million agreement in place with Barcelona for weeks, but De Jong has been hesitant to sign for the Red Devils and would seemingly prefer to stay at the Camp Nou.

Man United manager, Erik ten Hag is keen to add De Jong to his squad this summer.

Man United would need to submit a new proposal to keep their hopes of signing the Netherlands international alive with less than two weeks remaining in the window.

Ten Hag’s side will have to battle Chelsea who are also interested in De Jong.
