Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has presented N642.9 billion appropriation bill for the 2026 fiscal year to the Kebbi State House of Assembly for consideration.
Presenting the budget on Thursday, the governor disclosed that 70% of the total budget would be devoted to capital expenditure, while 25% was allocated to recurrent spending.
Governor Idris said the 2026 budget was designed to deepen his administration’s development agenda, with priority given to basic education, agriculture, health, infrastructure development and empowerment of citizens, among other key sectors.
He commended members of the State House of Assembly and the executive council for their unwavering support, noting that the sustained cooperation between the arms of government had contributed significantly to the achievements recorded.
In his response, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman-Zuru, assured the governor that the lawmakers would give the appropriation bill speedy consideration.
